![]() ![]() I came to Capture One because the Capture One for Nikon perpetual license was a great deal, I could stay on a perpetual license and C1 had layers when Lightroom didn't. I think customers (like me) will probably just switch back to Lightroom. I honestly don't know how they grow their customer base (let alone keep from shrinking). The cost of C1 perpetual depends upon how often you upgrade and what their "loyalty offer" ends up being. So, to summarize, Capture One subscription costs 50% more than Adobe and doesn't come with a pixel editor. And, Adobe is ahead in most feature areas, particularly layers, AI selection and handling of videos in your library. If you skip a release every now and again, your average monthly would be less.Īnd, most people will then have to spend separately to buy a pixel editor (like Affinity Photo) since Capture One doesn't come with one.Īdobe still has the photography plan at $10/month for both Lightroom AND Photoshop. If you paid that for the perpetual license every year, you'd be paying about $16.60/month for it. Switch to subscription for $179/yr (which works out to $15/mo). When I log into my account right now and look at what v23 would cost, they offer me: I have a V22 perpetual license and decided to skip v23 since it didn't really contain anything I thought was important to my workflow. They must think they have a loyal group of customers that are not price sensitive and would never consider moving to Lightroom. I honestly don't know what these guys are thinking. Here’s how it affects you:Īs you already own a license for Capture One Pro 23, you will receive free updates including all new features and improvements until September 30, 2023.Īfter this date, you can choose to remain on Capture One Pro 23 for as long as it suits your needs, purchase a new license when another version is released, or switch to a subscription. More details will be announced on February 1, 2023. Upgrade pricing will no longer be available and will be replaced with a new loyalty scheme. ![]() Here’s what’s changing: New perpetual licenses will include updates with bug fixes until the next version, but new features released after purchase will not be included. Instead, we will continuously release new tools and features on a rolling basis throughout the year.Īlongside this, we will also be making changes to our perpetual licenses from February 1, 2023. As a result, there will not be a Capture One 24. Now we’re ready to fully embrace this approach.įrom 2023 we will no longer be tied to an annual cycle for major releases. That’s why we’ve been investing heavily in our technology to be able release features to you as soon as they are ready. Over the past few years many of you have told us you want access to new tools and improvements sooner, rather than have them all in one ‘major’ version of Capture One Pro at the end of each year. ![]()
